The House That Herman Built

By Jackie Sumell, Herman Wallace and RCA Curating Contemporary Art students

29 Thurloe Place

19th June — 6th July

“What kind of house does a man who has lived in a 6' x 9' cell for over 30 years dream of?” This question became the starting point of The House that Herman Built, a collaborative project between artist Jackie Sumell and Herman Wallace, a prisoner who has spent the last 35 years in solitary confinement at Louisiana State Penitentiary.

On show will be sketches, models and an animation showing what Hermanšs imagined house would look like. Talks and events will accompany the exhibition. www.hermanshouse.org
