Statues Die Too is a group show presenting new works by Gabriele Beveridge, Rose O’Gallivan, Niamh Riorda, Poppy Jones and Lise Hovesen.

Working within the realms of re–appropriation, archiving, restoration and re–invention, these five artists share a preoccupation with the obsolete or anachronistic which is far from nostalgic. All posses a desire to re–imagine technology, processes or objects normally viewed as mere artifacts of an irretrievable past.

As part of the Brompton Design District this show is being held at The Garage, North Terrace, next door to Mint.

Playing on the cinematic theme which runs through much of the work on display, the space itself is presented as an immersive environment, which rearranges the boundaries between gallery, cinema and museum.
