Storefront for Art and Architecture
CCCP
1-5 Exhibition Road
20th June — 20th July 2008
For the London Festival of Architecture this June, the Brompton Design District will host a ’Pop–Up Storefront‘ by the New York-based organisation, Storefront for Art and Architecture.
Since 1982, Storefront for Art and Architecture has carried out its mission of bringing provocative, ground-breaking and controversial exhibitions to New York City from its gallery space in Soho. This year, Storefront will begin a new chapter in its history that will carry the gallery beyond the confines of New York — a series of new Storefronts will pop up in London and other cities around the world to host events and exhibitions. The London Pop–Up Storefront will be located at the guerilla gallery space at 1–5 Exhibition Road in the Brompton Design District from 20th June until 20th July 2008.
Storefront will present The BIG CPH Experiment: 5 LEGO models of residential projects built or under construction in Copenhagen. The show’s centrepiece will be a big 2.5m tall model of playing homage to the Danish building industry’s love of prefabrication.
